North Cascade Beekeepers (NCB) group is PROUD to introduce Cascade Queen Rearing (CQR) group! North Cascade Queen rearing a subset group that is aligned with NCB. Like North Cascade Beekeepers (NCB), Cascade Queen Rearing (CQR) group is a Whatcom County-based beekeeping group that actively hosts hands-on queen rearing educational events to its members. Like NCB, the CQR group operate as a no-dues group and coordinate their programs alongside Growing Veterans at 6458 Martin Place in Lynden, WA.

Back in 2024, a group of beekeeper friends starting meeting at a local coffeeshop to discuss honeybee queen rearing...

The Cascade Queen Rearing (CQR) group developed from this network of beekeeping friends. The CQR members foster honeybee queen rearing knowledge, increase the rate of successful honeybee queen breeding in members’ hives, share new and trusted techniques plus have the opportunity for hands-on activities at an medium to advanced level.

Are you a beginner beekeeper and interested in learning more about honeybee queen rearing? Don’t worry…. North Cascade Beekeepers and Cascade Queen Rearing group, coordinate together for beginning level queen rearing educational events. These down to earth entry level honeybee queen rearing educational events will be posted on the North Cascade Beekeepers educational and event calendar.

While both groups sound a lot alike, there are difference between North Cascade Beekeepers (NCB) and Cascade Queen Rearing (CQR)

North Cascade Beekeepers Group (NCB)

Established October 2025, by a group of beekeeper friends who joined together with a desire to help local folks learn beekeeping getting back to hands-on learning.

NO Member dues! Must be a registered member to attend educational events.

Coordinate educational events with Growing Veterans, Lynden WA and the Cascade Queen Rearing Group.

Goal is to promote goodwill and education amongst fellow beekeepers, wannabee beekeepers, Veterans and the general public. Education for everyone without add-on costs. Encourage responsible beekeeping, education and training for the benefit of honeybees, beekeepers and the Community.

To stay on top of NCB events and participate, an newsletter is sent out every month to members.

Events include: general beginning beekeeping education, hands on Apiary Days, and general meetings.

Cascade Queen Rearing Group (CQR)
